Staying Motivated on the road

I thought it was going to be the easiest thing in the world to stay motivated to take beautiful pictures on the road 24/7, but it's hard! I am one of the most passionate people you will ever meet when it comes to what I do. But, just like all creatives, I get down every once in a while and it's hard to stay motivated all the time. The #1 thing I do, to keep going, is running. I LOVE running long distance (which is only about 2-3 miles for me). Everyone has something that keeps them going and running is the one place I can be all by myself, with my own thoughts and I'm the one that I have to rely on to keep running till the end. If I stop, it's my own fault. That is the one thing that I depend on more then any other to clear my mind and stay on the road full-time. Running gives me that break I'm looking for away from all the commotion of a family on the road full-time in a trailer.

I encourage you to find that one thing that you love that gets you away from everything else, and keep it close to you at all times. I buy myself good running shoes, I look for amazing spots to run, I don't time myself right now, because I can't afford a watch, but maybe someday that will motivate me even more... who knows. Invest in what you love doing. It will save you for those few moments when you think "what did I get myself into".
