Why did we buy an Airstream?

One of the most common questions I get asked is, "Why did you buy an Airstream" opposed to other rv's that are much cheaper?

For us, it was just a feeling. I've been in other trailers that are much cheaper and larger than ours with more amenities, but they were always dark and stuffy. The moment you see an Airstream, you fall in love. The second you open that door and see the inside, you feel at home... it's that easy. It's not the largest space in the world, but it makes you feel good to be in it. There is something to be said about that, because being on the road full-time can get exhausting. Having a home that you feel proud of, makes it easier to keep going. There is so much light in our trailer and the whole purpose of having it, is to get outside and enjoy nature.

I'm not going to lie though, I wish we had the panoramic windows of a 27ft Airstream, because that would be amazing, but we still have a ton if windows that let you see outside. Yes, it's more expensive and yes things go wrong, just like they do in every RV, but the Airstream is something I'm proud to take care of. I want to fix things in it, because it feels like home.

Did I mention that it looks awesome in pictures? Being a full time photographer, I also wanted something that looked good in pictures. There is no doubt that an Airstream is the most beautiful and most recognized trailer in the world IMO. It was a no brainer that I would love taking pictures of it.

The resell value on them is also great. When we first thought about going full-time on the road, there was a chance that the whole thing would not work out, so I wanted to get something that I wouldn't lose to much money on if it didn't work. It's very surprising how much people still get for their used Airstreams and they never go out of style.

Probably the coolest thing about an Airstream is the community. Airstreamer's are the best and have become family on the road for us! There is an instant bond with Airstreams. It's the easiest thing in the world to go up to one and say hi. We talk about the model, the year, how long we've been on the road and if there is ever anything wrong, we can usually figure it out through one another.

So that's why we bought an Airstream. It was love at first site and the feeling has never gone away.
